ABERTO2 | VILANOVA ARTIGAS

08/13 - 09/17, 2023

For five weeks, the event occupied a 1974 family residence designed by architect Vilanova Artigas in the Alto da Boa Vista neighborhood. Works by over 70 Brazilian and international artists filled every space of the house, providing viewers with a powerful immersion in the artistic dialogue between architecture, visual arts, and design.

ABERTO2, in partnership with Etel, launched previously unreleased furniture pieces designed by Artigas. Claudia Moreira Salles and Humberto Campana also presented new pieces commissioned especially for the exhibition.

Curators: Claudia Moreira Salles, Filipe Assis, and Kiki Mazzucchelli.

From 08/13 to 09/17

Location

Casa Domschke

Designed for the Domschke family in 1974, the residence in Alto da Boa Vista is considered one of the most important designed by Vilanova Artigas. The residence features a façade perpendicular to the street, with floors interconnected by ramps, a trademark of the architect.

The dining room, which can be viewed from four different levels, serves as a unifying element for the family and is the highlight of the project.

Before ABERTO2, the house had never been opened to the public.
